Selena Gomez on Elle July Cover

The "Love You Like a Love Song" starlet appears on Elle's July cover! How major does she look in both cover shots? Fabulous! The colors are so summer-saturated! Which cover do you like best?

Here Selena wears an embellished mesh corset dress from Dolce & Gabbana. Loving the golds/metallics they've paired with this look. Her red lips and simple makeup are just right for the shot, considering they're going for a summer look.

I personally love this cover the best! This one is the one subscribers will receive in the mail. I'm obsessing over the embroidered Balmain top she's wearing. This shot is so different and not your typical skin-baring cover shot either. Her red lips are all she needs. So excited for my copy to arrive!

Oh You Chunky huh, oh You Chunky huh?

For any girl who's ever said "ew" to a chunky heel, is probably feeling pretty stupid right about now. The trend is inescapable these days. We've seen the look on celebrities, to stylists, the runway and galore! The term 'chunky' refers to the build of the shoes, specifically meaning 'bulky and solid'.  The shoes are coming in all shapes and sizes and lots of brands and designers have embraced the retro feel of the heels.  Sure they seem daunting at first, but they're so awesome, you won't regret it.

I myself have been a fan of this style for shoes for years. I remember when a roommate of mine couple of years back straight out denied acceptance of the trend and told me how much she disliked the ones I was wearing.  The ones I had wore that time were Vince Camuto's shaped like #7 with a wooden heel and metallic straps. (I wonder how she feel's about the chunky heels now ;). hehe Love you roomie).

The shoes are major head-turners. I love pairing mine with a great slim pant or cropped pants. They go perfect with accordion skirts and other dresses too. This style of shoe can be worn through all seasons. A chunky heel can give your outfit that extra 'oomf' you're searching for to complete your ensemble. There is no wrong or right way to wear this style of shoe. But make sure the shoe you're picking out for yourself doesn't take away from other aspects of your outfit or your personality. One far too many times I've seen girls over-do-it with the chunky heels. Choose a shoe that you know you're going to love. Don't just buy it because it looks trendy, but really purchase it if you know it's the perfect accessory. Choose a chunky heel that you know will suit your personality. The brand/designer doesn't really matter, but make sure before purchasing that you can walk around COMFORTABLY in them. The last thing you want to do is fall down on your first walk in the new shoes.

Spring Inspiration

Image via The Glamourai
Was browsing over some of my favorite blogs and I just can't get over how in love I am with The Glamourai's blog. I idolize her style and feel like out of the popular stylists/bloggers out there, I can relate to her style the most. She has an eclectic girly style with a love for prints and embraces all current fashion trends. I feel like her perspective on style is fresh and young.

Here was an image of one of her outfit posts she did back in March that I fell head over heels with. She's paired floral pants with a light sweater and a white sheer blouse underneath with plexiglass/lucite heels. I mean those Prada heels are tugging at my heart strings. I loved the simplistic yet girly-chic look that she's rocking.

I had never thought to pair a sheer blouse underneath a sweater like that. It's so modern classic. I must definitely try this ensemble out with my floral pants. I love getting inspired by others. I hope you go out and try this look too! It would be perfect look for a weekend-out or even for a cute date night with some friends. Classic, cool, modern and girly.

Mints, Cucumbers, Forests, and Emeralds

Summer time! It's finally here. The forecast on trends is out. I've been seeing mostly the same elements: florals, brights, lots and lots of neons, minimalism/monochromatic, metallics, and the such. Resort 2013 collections have been strutting their stuff on the runways recently. The color wheel is in full effect for summer, but I spy with my little sparkly eyes, more green than anything (at least that's what I think). GREeN.

From Vogue to street styles to accessories, the color seems to be everywhere. All shades of green from mints to cucumbers to forest to emeralds are popping up. The versatility of green is magical. It can be quite electrifying, stunning, and mystical.  I'll be honest, I've never really worn much of green but this new trend is making me want to make a splash with this color. This trailblazing new trend is becoming an extremely prominent and popular shade for the summer looks.

But now don't just think of green clothes, but ACCESSORIES as well. Add a pop of this color to an outfit with a new handbag or a large chunky jewelry piece. Trust me, this trend is coming in so many shades, there is simply no excuse to say 'Oh but green looks terrible on me!' I say 'embrace your inner naturalist'.  Don't be the last one to try the trend out, instead be the trend-setter! Just take a look at some Resort 2013 runway samples from below so you get what I mean (and a little inspiration).

Best Dressed

Look at how flawlessly gorgeous Charlize Theron looks at The Today Show in New York, wearing a Lanvin dress and Christian Louboutin shoes. Talk about perfection. That hair, the lip color, the simplicity, I'm awestruck. I'm absolutely loving black for summer. I've never been a fan of the color, but something about it being so effortless makes it a perfect pairing for summer. Keep it simple or dress it up with accessories and shoes. Either way, you cannot go wrong. Now I know why everyone loves the color black so much. I guess I'm a little late to the game ;)
