Hits and Misses at the Academy Awards

Hello lovely readers! So as you all know the Oscars were this past Sunday, which means we got to see all the trends that came down the red carpet. Now, I must say, I was very disappointed in the fashion I saw on the red carpet. Nothing stood out to me! All I saw was a bunch of sequins! And who better to love sequins and glitter than the Sparkle Girl herself right? But, I was disappointed. I didn't appreciate the sequined looks that some celebs were rocking on the red carpet. Here are some of my decent picks and the not so hot picks. Please share your thoughts!

The Hits

Giuliana Rancic glows in this Tony Ward dress. It was a tie for #1 best dressed between her and Milla Jovovich pictured below.

Tied for #1, Milla Jovovich in this Elie Saab dress. Perfection at its finest. The dress, the bead-work, her hair and make-up were so spot on fabulous. So irresistable

Glenn Close is perfection here in Zac Posen gown and matching jacket. The color is divine.

Jessica Chastain exuberates elegance in this gold and black Alexander McQueen.

Gwen Paltrow in Tom Ford. Super modern and elegant. It was simple and I'm okay with that.

Viola Davis shines in this emerald green Vera Wang gown. It is simply marvelous. The fit, the color, the detail, it is absolutely the best on her.

Emma Stone looking very elegant in a Giambattista Valli Couture gown. Something about this dress on Emma makes me love it.

Kelly Osbourne STUNNING, freakin stunning in a black Badgley Mischka gown with emerald-colored accents! The fit is so amazing on her! I don't care what people say, I love her grey hair!

J.Lo wearing an impeccable gown by Zuhair Murad. She looks like a goddess. The pleats, the beading, the stripes, the cut-out shoulders, ahh it was a perfect balance. Loved her look.

Loving this stunning flashy Monique Lhuillier number on Judy Greer

Wendi McLendon-Covey looked so beautiful in this shimmery pink hued ballgown. It was so gorgeous!

Kelly Ripa looked so chic and elegant in Caroline Herrera. So simple but the dress packed a lot of glamour.

Maya Rudolph’s plum Johanna Johnson dress. Love how it fits her so well.

I loved Nancy O'Dell in this canary yellow dress!!I think it was perfect for the Oscars! Just enough glam!

Octavia Spencer glows in this Tadashi Shoji dress. The sparkles are perfect! She looks stunning

Penelope Ann Miller looked so darling in this pale pink Badgley Mischka dress

Rose Byrne in a shiny Vivienne Westwood sparkler. Loved her hair!!

Sandra Bullock looking lovely in Marchesa <3 Loving the white, black and gold work. Perfect

Shailene Woodley in Valentino Couture. The look was a very mature looking but I loved it on her. It was elegant and pristine.

Stacy Keibler in gold Marchesa. The rose is just fabulous. Only she could pull this dress off

Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive gown <3 She looks stunning! And No, her hair and dress matching is not a faux pas. LOVE!

Stylist Louise Roe in Black Halo. SO so so amazing I can't even tell you. Pretty, perfect, and beyond elegant. Job well done!

Tina Fey in a midnight blue Carolina Herrera gown with peplum detail. Obsessing over how beautiful she looks!

The Misses

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace. Way to to to to much LEG! ahhh

This Givency Couture dress on Rooney Mara is all wrong. I hated it. What are those things on her chest? Hideous. The bottom is beautiful but the dress does nothing for her.

She needs a new stylist.
Melissa McCarthy looking a little too big in this one, the color is just not flattering on her at all.

Who told Cameron Diaz that 90s hairstyles were back in? And I hate when you can see celebs nipples underneath their dress. Distasteful. Beautiful dress, a silk Gucci premiere dress and she could have made it awesome, but she didn't.

I hated the color and she looked like a 16 year old this time. Someone please tell Michelle Williams to get rid of that boy cut.

She played it way too safe. Christian Dior 1954 dress

Color and style were so boring.

I have no words.

Floral Mania

Can you say FLORAL MANIA 4 times fast?! With New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week all wrapped up, the fashion industry's eye is currently on Milan Fashion Week. Designers can't seem to get enough of the white hot fashion of floral prints! We're still seeing tons of floral on the runways. Now, don't freak out just yet, I understand a few of you might be a little scared of the word "floral". Well fear not my friends because here are some amazing pictures that will surely make you fall in love with the flower power. Florals are raging in all colors, shapes, and sizes. My current favorites are the full floral pant suits. I'm so fond of florals that I openly call myself 'flower child'. Since a young age, I've always loved the femininity, simplicity, and beauty of floral prints. They can be super girly, very classic, casual, quirky and even edgy. Floral prints might be overwhelming for some, and you 'THINK' it might be hard to pull it off, but let me let you in on a secret: florals look good with ANYTHING! Pair your floral piece with other floral prints, with patterns, with bolds colors, pastel colors, with chunky knits, with scarves, with black, with white, and so much MORE! Don't be afraid to experiment with what you like. Remember MY GOLDEN RULE: don't wear it if you're not comfortable in it! I hope the images below inspire you to be a 'flower child' for a day! Have fun with them! Below are some of my favorite pics from designers fresh off the 2012 Runways. Enjoy fashionistas and be brave!
